About URM1
Acts as a sulfur carrier required for 2-thiolation of mcm5S2U at tRNA wobble positions of cytosolic tRNA(Lys), tRNA(Glu) and tRNA(Gln). Serves as sulfur donor in tRNA 2-thiolation reaction by being thiocarboxylated (-COSH) at its C-terminus by MOCS3. The sulfur is then transferred to tRNA to form 2-thiolation of mcm5S2U. Usage
This purified polyclonal antibody reacts with yeast Urm1 by western blot and ELISA. Although not tested, this antibody is likely functional in immunohistochemistry and immunoprecipitation. This antibody using the specified conditions may recognize other prominent intrinsic bands (UBLs or their conjugates). Other intrinsic bands are readily detectable in yeast lysates at lower antibody dilutions. A 12 kD band corresponding to yeast Urm1 is detected. Most yeast cell lysates can be used as a positive control without induction or stimulation.
