TSG101 antibody was raised against fusion protein containing amino acids 167-374 of the TSG101 protein expressed in E. coli.
TSG101 protein, the product of a recently identified tumor susceptibility gene. Inactivation of this gene in a mouse fibroblast system results in cell transformation and permits those cells to form tumors in nude mice. The TSG101 gene encodes a 46 kD protein containing a proline-rich domain and a leucine-zipper motif within a coiled-coil domain near the C-terminus
Component of the ESCRT-I complex, a regulator of vesicular trafficking process. Binds to ubiquitinated cargo proteins and is required for the sorting of endocytic ubiquitinated cargos into multivesicular bodies (MVBs). Mediates the association between the ESCRT-0 and ESCRT-I complex. Required for completion of cytokinesis; the function requires CEP55. May be involved in cell growth and differentiation. Acts as a negative growth regulator.
