Services
  • Immunohistochemistry Services

  • Work with LifeSpan to design a custom immunohistochemistry to address your specific biological question. Outsource the entire localization process without having to worry about finding and characterizing target specific antibodies, sourcing and validating difficult-to-find tissues, and having the ability to interpret the resulting immunostaining in relation to complex human pathologies.

  • TCR Screening Services

  • Test your therapeutic antibodies in immunohistochemistry against a broad panel of normal frozen human tissue types in order to determine potential unintended binding. Our non-GLP TCR services are designed on the FDA recommendation outlined in their "Points to Consider in the Manufacture and Testing of Monoclonal Antibody Products for Human Use".

Specificity and Use

TNNI3 / Cardiac Troponin I antibody was raised against native human cardiac troponin I, purity greater than 98%.
Recognizes human cardiac-specific troponin I, (TnI) an integral inhibitory protein of cardiac muscle which exists as a complex with troponin C (TnC) and troponin T (TnT). The TnT subunit of troponin binds to tropomyosin to form a troponin-tropomyosin complex, anchored in place by the binding of TnI to actin, within muscle thin filaments. Structural change resulting from the binding of calcium to specific sites on the regulatory TnC subunit, releases the inhibitory region of TnI from actin, enabling the attachment of the molecular motor protein myosin, allowing for muscle contraction and hence movement. The measurement of blood TnI and TnT levels is an important diagnostic indicator of heart muscle damage, and can be used to differentiate between angina and myocardic infarction in patients with chest pain. Troponin I has also been shown to inhibit angiogenesis in vivo and in vitro.

Troponin I (TnI), along with troponin T (TnT) and troponin C (TnC), is one of 3 subunits that form the troponin complex of the thin filaments of striated muscle. TnI is the inhibitory subunit; blocking actin-myosin interactions and thereby mediating striated muscle relaxation. The TnI subfamily contains three genes: TnI-skeletal-fast-twitch, TnI-skeletal-slow-twitch, and TnI-cardiac. This gene encodes the TnI-cardiac protein and is exclusively expressed in cardiac muscle tissues.
