Specificity and Use
TNF Alpha antibody was raised against human TNF-alpha.
Recognizes the free soluble (17kD) and membrane (26kD) human TNF-alpha. The antibody inhibits the biological activity of both forms. It does not react with receptor bound TNF-alpha.
Suitable for use in Flow Cytometry, Western Blot, and immuno assays. Functional Assays: 1:50. Western Blot: 1:50. The applications listed have been tested for the unconjugated form of this product. Other forms have not been tested.

For long-term storage and to avoid repeated freezing and thawing, add sterile 40-50% glycerol, aliquot and store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months at -20°C. Sensitive to light.
TNF Alpha is a multifunctional proinflammatory cytokine that belongs to the tumor necrosis factor (TNF) superfamily. This cytokine is mainly secreted by macrophages. It can bind to, and thus functions through its receptors TNFRSF1A/TNFR1 and TNFRSF1B/TNFBR. This cytokine is involved in the regulation of a wide spectrum of biological processes including cell proliferation, differentiation, apoptosis, lipid metabolism, and coagulation.
