TIMP2 antibody was raised against native human pro-MMP-2/TIMP-2.
Recognizes a protein of 21kD, identified as tissue inhibitor of metalloproteinases-2 (TIMP-2) and also reacts with the MMP-2/TIMP-2 complex. Reacts with human, does not react with mouse and rat.
ELISA (For coating, order without BSA). Immunoprecipitation (Use Protein G). (Ab 2 ug/mg protein lysate). Western Blot (Ab 1 ug/ml for 2hrs at RT). Cellular Localization: Cytoplasmic. Positive control: HFL-1 cells. Conditioned, serum-free medium from (TPA-treated) human fetal lung cells. Bladder, breast, and ovarian carcinomas. |
PBS, pH 7.4, 0.2% BSA, 0.09% sodium azide.
Short term: 4°C. Long term: Store at -20°C. Avoid freeze-thaw cycles.

TIMP2 Antibody, Metalloproteinase inhibitor 2 Antibody, TIMP-2 Antibody, CSC-21K Antibody
TIMP2 is a member of the TIMP gene family. The proteins encoded by this gene family are natural inhibitors of the matrix metalloproteinases, a group of peptidases involved in degradation of the extracellular matrix. In addition to an inhibitory role against metalloproteinases, the encoded protein has a unique role among TIMP family members in its ability to directly suppress the proliferation of endothelial cells.
