THY1 / CD90 antibody was raised against rat Thy1 antigen.
Recognizes mouse and rat CD90 also known as Thy1.1. Thy1.1 is a monomorphic determinant in rat but polymorphic in mice. Reacts with Thy1.1 mice e. g. AKR and FVB mice, but not Thy1.2 mice such as CBA and BALB/c. Species cross-reactivity: Mouse.

THY1 or CD90 is a 25–37 kDa heavily N-glycosylated, glycophosphatidylinositol (GPI) anchored conserved cell surface protein with a single V-like immunoglobulin domain, originally discovered as a thymocyte antigen. Thy-1 can be used as a marker for a variety of stem cells and for the axonal processes of mature neurons.
