Services
  • Immunohistochemistry Services

  • Work with LifeSpan to design a custom immunohistochemistry to address your specific biological question. Outsource the entire localization process without having to worry about finding and characterizing target specific antibodies, sourcing and validating difficult-to-find tissues, and having the ability to interpret the resulting immunostaining in relation to complex human pathologies.

  • TCR Screening Services

  • Test your therapeutic antibodies in immunohistochemistry against a broad panel of normal frozen human tissue types in order to determine potential unintended binding. Our non-GLP TCR services are designed on the FDA recommendation outlined in their "Points to Consider in the Manufacture and Testing of Monoclonal Antibody Products for Human Use".

Specificity and Use

SYN1 / Synapsin 1 antibody was raised against an 18 residue synthetic peptide GGQQRQGPPQKPPGPAGP based on the human synapsin I (residues 583-600) was synthesized and the peptide coupled to KLH. Percent identity by BLAST analysis: Human, Gorilla, Monkey, Marmoset, Mouse, Rat, Porcine, Bovine, Horse, Rabbit (100%); Elephant, Panda, Bat, Dog (94%); Platypus (83%).
aa583-600
Detects an 80 kD doublet, corresponding to the apparent molecular mass of synapsin I on SDSPAGE immunoblots, in samples from human, mouse, rat and bovine origins. The antibody specificity is confirmed by specific peptide inhibition in immunoblotting studies.

Packaging

BBS, pH 8.4 (25 mM sodium borate, 100 mM boric acid, 75 mM sodium chloride, 5 mM EDTA)
Short term 4°C, long term aliquot and store at -20°C, avoid freeze thaw cycles. For maximum product recovery, after thawing, centrifuge the product vial before removing cap.

SYN1 / Synapsin 1 is a member of the synapsin gene family. Synapsins encode neuronal phosphoproteins which associate with the cytoplasmic surface of synaptic vesicles. Family members are characterized by common protein domains, and they are implicated in synaptogenesis and the modulation of neurotransmitter release, suggesting a potential role in several neuropsychiatric diseases. This member of the synapsin family plays a role in regulation of axonogenesis and synaptogenesis.
