Reacts with human Sprouty-2 protein (38kD). Assay by immunoelectrophoresis resulted in a single precipitin arc against anti-Rabbit Serum.
Suitable for use in ELISA, Western Blot and Immunoprecipitation. Western Blot: 1:2000; A 38kD band corresponding to human Sprouty-2 is observed. Detection occurs using HRP Goat anti-Rabbit IgG and ECL. Immunoprecipitation: 20 ul of antibody is used to immunoprecipitate hSpry2 protein from 1 mg of a HeLa cell lysate in 1ml. Incubate the antibody for 2hr with the cell lysate. Immunoprecipitate the complex with Protein G agarose.

SPRY2 / Sprouty 2 is a protein belonging to the sprouty family. The encoded protein contains a carboxyl-terminal cysteine-rich domain essential for the inhibitory activity on receptor tyrosine kinase signaling proteins and is required for growth factor stimulated translocation of the protein to membrane ruffles. In primary dermal endothelial cells this gene is transiently upregulated in response to fibroblast growth factor two.
