  • Work with LifeSpan to design a custom immunohistochemistry to address your specific biological question. Outsource the entire localization process without having to worry about finding and characterizing target specific antibodies, sourcing and validating difficult-to-find tissues, and having the ability to interpret the resulting immunostaining in relation to complex human pathologies.

  • TCR Screening Services

  • Test your therapeutic antibodies in immunohistochemistry against a broad panel of normal frozen human tissue types in order to determine potential unintended binding. Our non-GLP TCR services are designed on the FDA recommendation outlined in their "Points to Consider in the Manufacture and Testing of Monoclonal Antibody Products for Human Use".

Specificity and Use

Spastin antibody was raised against synthetic peptide corresponding to the amino acids 130 - 142 of the native molecule conjugated to Keyhole limpet Hemocyanin.
Recognizes an epitope between amino acids 130-142 of human spastin. The antibody has been tested for cross reactivity against the following peptides. Spastin 171-185 peptide, <=0.1%; Spastin 204-215 peptide, <=0.1%; Spastin 561-573 peptide, <=0.1%; Determined by competitive ELISA.
Western Blot: This antibody detects bands between 50 to 60 kD in human brain total protein lysate under reducing conditions.

PBS, 0.09% sodium azide.

Spastin is a member of the AAA (ATPases associated with a variety of cellular activities) protein family. Members of this protein family share an ATPase domain and have roles in diverse cellular processes including membrane trafficking, intracellular motility, organelle biogenesis, protein folding, and proteolysis. The encoded ATPase may be involved in the assembly or function of nuclear protein complexes. Two transcript variants encoding distinct isoforms have been identified for this gene.
