  • Work with LifeSpan to design a custom immunohistochemistry to address your specific biological question. Outsource the entire localization process without having to worry about finding and characterizing target specific antibodies, sourcing and validating difficult-to-find tissues, and having the ability to interpret the resulting immunostaining in relation to complex human pathologies.

  • TCR Screening Services

  • Test your therapeutic antibodies in immunohistochemistry against a broad panel of normal frozen human tissue types in order to determine potential unintended binding. Our non-GLP TCR services are designed on the FDA recommendation outlined in their "Points to Consider in the Manufacture and Testing of Monoclonal Antibody Products for Human Use".

Specificity and Use

SORT1 / Sortilin antibody was raised against recombinant protein from the extracellular domain of human sortilin.
Extracellular Domain
Sortilin (Neurotensin receptor 3). By Western blot the antibody recognizes a strong band at ~90 kD in extracts of NSC34 cells. By immunohistochemistry the antibody intensely stains motor neurons within the rat spinal cord. SPECIES REACTIVITY: Human, rat and mouse. Other species have not been tested.
Suitable for use in Western Blot and Immunohistochemistry. Western Blot: 1:1000 to 1:2000 on extracts from NSC34 cells. Immunohistochemistry: 1:500 to 1:1000 on rat spinal cord.

Long term: -20°C; Short term: +4°C. Avoid repeat freeze-thaw cycles.

About SORT1 / Sortilin

Q99523 X98248 CAA66904.2

SORT1 Antibody, 100 kDa NT receptor Antibody, gp95 Antibody, LDLCQ6 Antibody, Glycoprotein 95 Antibody, NTR3 Antibody, Sortilin 1 Antibody, Sortilin Antibody, Neurotensin receptor 3 Antibody

Functions as a sorting receptor in the Golgi compartment and as a clearance receptor on the cell surface. Required for protein transport from the Golgi apparatus to the lysosomes by a pathway that is independent of the mannose-6-phosphate receptor (M6PR). Also required for protein transport from the Golgi apparatus to the endosomes. Promotes neuronal apoptosis by mediating endocytosis of the proapoptotic precursor forms of BDNF (proBDNF) and NGFB (proNGFB).
