The Immunohistochemistry Antibody Company
Human (tested or 100% immunogen sequence identity)
SMC4 antibody was raised against a synthetic peptide, which represented a portion of human structural maintenance of chromosomes 4 encoded within exon 23 (LocusLink ID 10051). According to Swiss-Prot entry Q9NTJ3, the peptide is near the C-terminus.
Specific for human SMC4 protein. Other species have not been tested. Reactivity with mouse is likely owing to 17/19 identical residues between mouse sequence and the peptide used as the immunogen for this antibody.
Suitable for use in Immunofluorescence, Western Blot and Immunoprecipitation.
Long term: Add glycerol (40-50%) -20°C; Short term: +4°C
For research use only.
SMC4 Antibody, HCAP-C Antibody, SMC protein 4 Antibody, SMC4L1 Antibody, SMC-4 Antibody, XCAP-C homolog Antibody, CAP-C Antibody, CAPC AntibodyCentral component of the condensin complex, a complex required for conversion of interphase chromatin into mitotic-like condense chromosomes. The condensin complex probably introduces positive supercoils into relaxed DNA in the presence of type I topoisomerases and converts nicked DNA into positive knotted forms in the presence of type II topoisomerases.
