  • Work with LifeSpan to design a custom immunohistochemistry to address your specific biological question. Outsource the entire localization process without having to worry about finding and characterizing target specific antibodies, sourcing and validating difficult-to-find tissues, and having the ability to interpret the resulting immunostaining in relation to complex human pathologies.

  • TCR Screening Services

  • Test your therapeutic antibodies in immunohistochemistry against a broad panel of normal frozen human tissue types in order to determine potential unintended binding. Our non-GLP TCR services are designed on the FDA recommendation outlined in their "Points to Consider in the Manufacture and Testing of Monoclonal Antibody Products for Human Use".

Specificity and Use

SLPI / Antileukoproteinase antibody was raised against a 17 amino acid peptide located near the centre of human SLPI.
Recognizes secretory leukocyte protease inhibitor (SLPI), a 14kD non-glycosylated protein produced by secretory cells in the respiratory, genital and lacrimal glands, and by macrophages, B-cells and neutrophils. The functions of SLPI are diverse. The SLPI protein inhibits protease activity at sites of inflammation, protecting tissues against protease mediated damage and it possesses anti-microbial/anti-viral activity. In addition, SLPI has been reported to exhibit anti-inflammatory properties, regulating lipopolysaccharide induced activation of NF-kappa beta in peripheral blood monocytes.

SLPI is a secreted inhibitor which protects epithelial tissues from serine proteases. It is found in various secretions including seminal plasma, cervical mucus, and bronchial secretions, and has affinity for trypsin, leukocyte elastase, and cathepsin G. Its inhibitory effect contributes to the immune response by protecting epithelial surfaces from attack by endogenous proteolytic enzymes. This antimicrobial protein has antibacterial, antifungal and antiviral activity.
