SLC5A11 / SMIT2 antibody was raised against synthetic 15aa peptide sequence from the N-terminal, cytoplasmic domain of Human KST1(KLH).

Recognizes Human KST1. No significant sequence homology exists with other SGLTs. Species sequence homology: rabbit 66%.
Usage
Suitable for use in ELISA and Western Blot. Western Blot: 1-10 ug/ml using ECL. A band of 95-110kD has been detected in brush border membrane. ELISA: 0.5-1 ug/ml Control peptide can be used to coat ELISA plates at 1 ug/ml.

About SLC5A11 / SMIT2
Involved in the sodium-dependent cotransport of myo-inositol (MI) with a Na+:MI stoichiometry of 2:1. Exclusively responsible for apical MI transport and absorption in intestine. Also can transport D-chiro-inositol (DCI) but not L-fructose. Exhibits stereospecific cotransport of both D-glucose and D-xylose. May induce apoptosis through the TNF-alpha, PDCD1 pathway.
