Description
GLUT5 antibody LS-C15414 is an unconjugated rabbit polyclonal antibody to rat GLUT5 (SLC2A5) (aa490-502). Validated for ELISA, IF, IHC and WB. Cited in 2 publications.
Target
Rat SLC2A5 / GLUT5
Synonyms
SLC2A5 | Fructose transporter | Glucose transporter 5 | GLUT-5 | GLUT5
Host
Rabbit
Reactivity
Rat (tested or 100% immunogen sequence identity)
Clonality
IgG Polyclonal
Conjugations
Unconjugated
Purification
Immunoaffinity purified
Modifications
Unmodified
Immunogen
A cytoplasmic 13 AA peptide sequence (aa 490-502) near the C-Terminus of rat liver glucose/fructose transporter (Glut-5) (1). A cysteine has been added at the NH2 terminus for coupling to KLH. The peptide was coupled to KLH.
Epitope
aa490-502
Specificity
Recognizes rat Glut-5. Species sequence homology: human: 61%, mouse: 53%.
Applications
  • IHC
  • Immunofluorescence
  • Western blot (1 - 10 µg/ml)
  • ELISA (1:1000 - 1:10000)
Performing IHC? See our complete line of Immunohistochemistry Reagents including antigen retrieval solutions, blocking agents ABC Detection Kits and polymers, biotinylated secondary antibodies, substrates and more.
Usage
Suitable for use in ELISA, Western Blot, Immunofluorescence and Immunohistochemistry. Western Blot: 1-10 ug/ml using ECL. The antibody has been shown to react with a protein band of about 60kD in the rat jejunum membranes that can be competed with the control peptide. The MW Of Glut 5 is larger than that reported for human Glut 5 (50-55kD). As opposed to human tissues, rat Glut-5 mRNA has not been detected in rat testis, adipose tissues, and skeletal muscle. In rat kidney, a protein of about 42kD was detected. Differences in MW of Glut-3 in various tissues has also been noted. ELISA: 1:1000-1:10000. Use control peptide to coat ELISA plates at 1 ug/ml/.
Presentation
PBS, pH 7.4, 0.1% BSA
