Work with LifeSpan to design a custom immunohistochemistry to address your specific biological question. Outsource the entire localization process without having to worry about finding and characterizing target specific antibodies, sourcing and validating difficult-to-find tissues, and having the ability to interpret the resulting immunostaining in relation to complex human pathologies.

Test your therapeutic antibodies in immunohistochemistry against a broad panel of normal frozen human tissue types in order to determine potential unintended binding. Our non-GLP TCR services are designed on the FDA recommendation outlined in their "Points to Consider in the Manufacture and Testing of Monoclonal Antibody Products for Human Use".

Product Description

EAAT1 antibody LS-C186488 is an unconjugated goat polyclonal antibody to human EAAT1 (SLC1A3). Validated for Peptide-ELISA and WB.
About SLC1A3 / EAAT1
Transports L-glutamate and also L- and D-aspartate. Essential for terminating the postsynaptic action of glutamate by rapidly removing released glutamate from the synaptic cleft. Acts as a symport by cotransporting sodium. P43003 NM_004172 NP_004163.3

Immunogen
SLC1A3 / EAAT1 antibody was raised against synthetic peptide C-RSFKVPIQANET from an internal region of human SLC1A3 / GluT-1 / GLAST (NP_004163.3; NP_001160167.1). Percent identity by BLAST analysis: Hamster, Guinea pig (83%).
Blocking Peptide
LS-E28027 - Lyophilized - 100 µg - $145.00
Immunizing peptide used to generate LS-C186488. Useful for pre-absorption and neutralization of the antibody's antigen binding site.
Epitope
aa197-208
Specificity
Human SLC1A3 / GluT-1 / GLAST. This antibody is expected to recognize isoform 1 (NP_004163.3) and isoform 2 (NP_001160167.1).
Usage
Peptide ELISA: antibody detection limit dilution 1:128000. Western blot: Approx 60kD band observed in Human Brain (Frontal Cortex) lysates (calculated MW of 59.6kD according to NP_004163.3). Recommended concentration: 0.1-0.3 ug/ml. An additional band of unknown identity was also consistently observed at 22kD. This band was successfully blocked by incubation with the immunizing peptide.
