SELP / P-Selectin / CD62P antibody was raised against purified human platelet GMP-140 (CD62P).
Recognizes the protease sensitive lectin epitope of CD62P.
Antibody blocks the activated endothelium or platelet-neutrophil interaction. Applications: Suitable for use in Flow Cytometry, Immunohistochemistry. The applications listed have been tested for the unconjugated form of this product. Other forms have not been tested.
SELP encodes a 140 kD protein that is stored in the alpha-granules of platelets and Weibel-Palade bodies of endothelial cells. This protein redistributes to the plasma membrane during platelet activation and degranulation and mediates the interaction of activated endothelial cells or platelets with leukocytes. The membrane protein is a calcium-dependent receptor that binds to sialylated forms of Lewis blood group carbohydrate antigens on neutrophils and monocytes.
