  • Work with LifeSpan to design a custom immunohistochemistry to address your specific biological question. Outsource the entire localization process without having to worry about finding and characterizing target specific antibodies, sourcing and validating difficult-to-find tissues, and having the ability to interpret the resulting immunostaining in relation to complex human pathologies.

  • TCR Screening Services

  • Test your therapeutic antibodies in immunohistochemistry against a broad panel of normal frozen human tissue types in order to determine potential unintended binding. Our non-GLP TCR services are designed on the FDA recommendation outlined in their "Points to Consider in the Manufacture and Testing of Monoclonal Antibody Products for Human Use".

Specificity and Use

Rhodopsin / RHO antibody was raised against rat Rhodopsin.
Recognizes rat Rhodopsin, a 39KD glycoprotein. Epitope sequence is in the first 10 aa at N-terminus (GTEGPNFYV). This antibody specifically labels rods with the axons and synaptic pedicles of the rods being labeled.
Suitable for use in Western Blot and Immunohistochemistry. Also suitable for use in studies of photoreceptor cells. Immunohistochemistry: 1:25.

PBS, pH 7.4, 1% BSA, 0.09% sodium azide
Short term 4°C, long term aliquot and store at -20°C, avoid freeze thaw cycles.

Retinitis pigmentosa is an inherited progressive disease which is a major cause of blindness in western communities. It can be inherited as an autosomal dominant, autosomal recessive, or X-linked recessive disorder. In the autosomal dominant form, which comprises about 25% of total cases, approximately 30% of families have mutations in the gene encoding the rod photoreceptor-specific protein rhodopsin.
