RBL2 / RB2 p130 antibody was raised against rb2 (p130) peptide corresponding to the C-terminus of the human protein conjugated to KLH.
Reacts with a 130kD Rb2 protein from human, rat and mouse tissue. No reaction was observed against other related tumor suppressor proteins. Cross-reactivity with Rb2 (p130) from other species may also occur.

Recruits and targets histone methyltransferases SUV420H1 and SUV420H2, leading to epigenetic transcriptional repression. Controls histone H4 'Lys-20' trimethylation. Probably acts as a transcription repressor by recruiting chromatin-modifying enzymes to promoters.
