Services
  • Immunohistochemistry Services

  • Work with LifeSpan to design a custom immunohistochemistry to address your specific biological question. Outsource the entire localization process without having to worry about finding and characterizing target specific antibodies, sourcing and validating difficult-to-find tissues, and having the ability to interpret the resulting immunostaining in relation to complex human pathologies.

  • TCR Screening Services

  • Test your therapeutic antibodies in immunohistochemistry against a broad panel of normal frozen human tissue types in order to determine potential unintended binding. Our non-GLP TCR services are designed on the FDA recommendation outlined in their "Points to Consider in the Manufacture and Testing of Monoclonal Antibody Products for Human Use".

Specificity and Use

RAD52 antibody was raised against synthetic peptide corresponding to amino acids 360-375 of the human Rad52 protein.
aa360-375
Detects Rad52, a protein which functions in DNA repair through the homologous recombination of DNA double strand breaks (DSBs). DSBs can be generated through exposure to ionizing radiation or by endogenous cellular reactions, and Rad52 acts during the latter stages of recombination after the DSBs are processed into single stranded DNA (ssDNA). Rad52 functions together with Rad51 and RPA (Replication Protein A), where it has two distinct activities. First, Rad52 and RPA form a co-complex on ssDNA, where Rad52 functions to recruit Rad51. In addition, Rad52 has ssDNA binding and annealing activities, particularly ssDNA saturated with RPA. Rad52 is present at low levels during the G1 phase of the cell cycle, when recombinatorial repair is absent. The level rises steadily through S phase reaching a maximum in G2 phase when homologous repair is also at its highest level.
Western Blot: LS-C42570 detects a band of approximately 63kD in HeLa nuclear extracts.

About RAD52

P43351 AF187983 NP_602296.2

RAD52 Antibody, RAD52 (S. cerevisiae) homolog Antibody, RAD52 homolog (S. cerevisiae) Antibody, Recombination protein RAD52 Antibody

RAD52 shares similarity with Saccharomyces cerevisiae Rad52, a protein important for DNA double-strand break repair and homologous recombination. This gene product was shown to bind single-stranded DNA ends, and mediate the DNA-DNA interaction necessary for the annealing of complementary DNA strands. It was also found to interact with DNA recombination protein RAD51, which suggested its role in RAD51 related DNA recombination and repair. A pseudogene of this gene is present on chromosome 2.
