Services
  • Immunohistochemistry Services

  • Work with LifeSpan to design a custom immunohistochemistry to address your specific biological question. Outsource the entire localization process without having to worry about finding and characterizing target specific antibodies, sourcing and validating difficult-to-find tissues, and having the ability to interpret the resulting immunostaining in relation to complex human pathologies.

  • TCR Screening Services

  • Test your therapeutic antibodies in immunohistochemistry against a broad panel of normal frozen human tissue types in order to determine potential unintended binding. Our non-GLP TCR services are designed on the FDA recommendation outlined in their "Points to Consider in the Manufacture and Testing of Monoclonal Antibody Products for Human Use".

Specificity and Use

PECAM-1 / CD31 antibody was raised against membrane preparation of a spleen from a patient with hairy cell leukemia. Cellular Localization: Cell membrane.
Recognizes human. endothelial cells in normal tissues and in benign and malignant proliferations 100kD (endothelial cells) and 130kD (platelets). In cryostat sections and blood smears the antibody also stains megakaryocytes, platelets and occasionally plasma cells. It reacts weakly with mantle zone B cells, peripheral T cells, and neutrophils. Antibody to CD31 is of value in the study of benign and malignant vascular tumors. Staining for CD31 has also been used to measure angiogenesis, which reportedly predicts tumor recurrence. Species cross-reactivity: Does not react with rat or porcine.
Suitable for use in ELISA, Immunofluorescence and Immunohistochemistry. Not suitable for Western Blot. Immunohistochemistry (Formalin/paraffin): 1:50 for 30min at RT. Staining of formalin-fixed tissues requires boiling tissue sections in 1 mM EDTA, pH 8.0 for 10-20 min., followed by cooling at RT for 20 min. Positive control: Placenta.

Packaging

PBS, 0.09% sodium azide, 40% glycerol.
Long term: -20°C; Short term: +4°C. Avoid repeat freeze-thaw cycles.

PECAM1 Antibody, CD31 Antibody, CD31 antigen Antibody, EndoCAM Antibody, PECA1 Antibody, PECAM-1 Antibody, GPIIA Antibody

Induces susceptibility to atherosclerosis (By similarity). Cell adhesion molecule which is required for leukocyte transendothelial migration (TEM) under most inflammatory conditions. Tyr-690 plays a critical role in TEM and is required for efficient trafficking of PECAM1 to and from the lateral border recycling compartment (LBRC) and is also essential for the LBRC membrane to be targeted around migrating leukocytes.
