PCDH8

protocadherin 8

Calcium-dependent cell-adhesion protein (By similarity). May play a role in activity-induced synaptic reorganization underlying long term memory (By similarity). Could be involved in CDH2 internalization through TAOK2/p38 MAPK pathway. In hippocampal neurons, may play a role in the down-regulation of dendritic spines, maybe through its action on CDH2 endocytosis.

Gene Name: protocadherin 8
Family/Subfamily: Cadherin , not assigned-Cadherin
Synonyms: PCDH8, ARCADLIN, Protocadherin 8, Protocadherin-8, PAPC
Target Sequences: NM_002590 NP_002581.2 O95206

PCDH8 Antibody - Western blot analysis of extracts of various cell lines, using PCDH8 antibody at 1:1000 dilution. The secondary antibody used was an HRP Goat Anti-Rabbit IgG (H+L) at 1:10000 dilution. Lysates were loaded 25ug per lane and 3% nonfat dry milk in TBST was used for blocking. An ECL Kit was used for detection and the exposure time was 90s.
