Native parainfluenza virus type 2.
Specificity
Recognizes Parainfluenza virus type 2, a member of the paramyxoviridae. The virus is a common cause of croup and other upper and lower respiratory tract illnesses. Does not react with Parainfluenza types 1 and 3 by indirect immunofluorescence.
