MYB / c-Myb antibody was raised against recombinant murine Myb purified by SDS.
Recognizes mouse Myb, Mr ~80kD, containing C-terminal amino acids from 401-636. Species cross-reactivity: human.
Suitable for use in Western Blot. Western Blot: 0.5-2 ug/ml detects Myb in 20 ug of RIPA lysate from Jurkat cells. Jurkat cell lysate was resolved by electrophoresis, transferred to nitrocellulose and probed with anti-Myb (0.5 ug/ml). Proteins were visualized using a goat anti-mouse secondary antibody conjugated to HRP and a chemiluminescence detection system. Immunoprecipitation: 4 ug of a previous lot immunoprecipitated Myb from Jurkat cell lysate.

MYB / c-Myb is a transcription factor that is a member of the MYB family of transcription factor genes. The protein contains three domains, an N-terminal DNA-binding domain, a central transcriptional activation domain and a C-terminal domain involved in transcriptional repression. This protein plays an essential role in the regulation of hematopoiesis and may play a role in tumorigenesis. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants.
