Services
  • Immunohistochemistry Services

  • Work with LifeSpan to design a custom immunohistochemistry to address your specific biological question. Outsource the entire localization process without having to worry about finding and characterizing target specific antibodies, sourcing and validating difficult-to-find tissues, and having the ability to interpret the resulting immunostaining in relation to complex human pathologies.

  • TCR Screening Services

  • Test your therapeutic antibodies in immunohistochemistry against a broad panel of normal frozen human tissue types in order to determine potential unintended binding. Our non-GLP TCR services are designed on the FDA recommendation outlined in their "Points to Consider in the Manufacture and Testing of Monoclonal Antibody Products for Human Use".

Specificity and Use

Muscle Actin antibody was raised against extract of human myocardium.
Reacts with a 42kD polypeptide from tissue extracts of uterus, ileum, aorta, diaphragm, heart and smooth muscle cells. Recognizes alpha actin from skeletal, cardiac and smooth muscle and gamma actin from smooth muscle sources. It stains tumors of smooth muscle (leiomyomas and leiomyosarcomas) as well as skeletal muscle (rhabdomyomas and rhabdomyosarcomas). Does not cross-react with beta or non-smooth muscle gamma actin. Species cross-reactivity: Human, rabbit and rat.
Suitable for use in Immunohistochemistry. Immunohistochemistry (formalin/paraffin): 1:50-1:100 for 30 min at RT. No special pretreatment is required for the immunohistochemical staining of formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded tissues. Positive control: Muscle or sarcoma.
