Specificity and Use
MAPKAP1 / MIP1 antibody was raised against the epitope recognized maps to a region between residue 470 and the C-terminus (residue 522) of human stress-activated map kinase interacting protein 1 using the numbering given in entry NP_001006618.1 (GeneID 79109).
This antibody is specific to the Sin1 protein. Species cross-reactivity: Human and mouse. Other species not yet tested.
Suitable for use in Western Blot and Immunoprecipitation.
Subunit of mTORC2, which regulates cell growth and survival in response to hormonal signals. mTORC2 is activated by growth factors, but, in contrast to mTORC1, seems to be nutrient-insensitive. mTORC2 seems to function upstream of Rho GTPases to regulate the actin cytoskeleton, probably by activating one or more Rho-type guanine nucleotide exchange factors. mTORC2 promotes the serum-induced formation of stress-fibers or F-actin.
