Specificity and Use
MAPK8 / JNK1 antibody was raised against recombinant GST-fusion protein of JNK1.
Reacts with JNK1 in both transfected and endogenous cell lines on Western blots. This antibody may cross-react with JNK3 in an overexpressed cell lysate, but the cross reactivity to JNK2 has not been observed. This antibody identifies a 54kD band on Western blot analysis. Reactivity is confirmed with A431 cell lysates.
Suitable for use in Immunofluorescence and Western Blot. Immunofluorescence: 5-10 ug/ml. Western Blot: 1-3 ug/ml.

Serine/threonine-protein kinase involved in various processes such as cell proliferation, differentiation, migration, transformation and programmed cell death. Extracellular stimuli such as proinflammatory cytokines or physical stress stimulate the stress-activated protein kinase/c-Jun N-terminal kinase (SAP/JNK) signaling pathway. In this cascade, two dual specificity kinases MAP2K4/MKK4 and MAP2K7/MKK7 phosphorylate and activate MAPK8/JNK1.
