Services
  • Immunohistochemistry Services

  • Work with LifeSpan to design a custom immunohistochemistry to address your specific biological question. Outsource the entire localization process without having to worry about finding and characterizing target specific antibodies, sourcing and validating difficult-to-find tissues, and having the ability to interpret the resulting immunostaining in relation to complex human pathologies.

  • TCR Screening Services

  • Test your therapeutic antibodies in immunohistochemistry against a broad panel of normal frozen human tissue types in order to determine potential unintended binding. Our non-GLP TCR services are designed on the FDA recommendation outlined in their "Points to Consider in the Manufacture and Testing of Monoclonal Antibody Products for Human Use".

Specificity and Use

MAP1B antibody was raised against purified bovine brain MAPs.
Recognizes microtubule associated protein 1B (MAP1B, also known as MAP5, MAP1.2, MAP1 (x) or MAP1X). Does not cross-react with other MAPs, tau or tubulin. Species cross-reactivity: Human, bovine and rat. Does not react with chicken.
Immunohistochemistry: LS-B2428 was validated for use in immunohistochemistry on a panel of 21 formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded (FFPE) human tissues after heat induced antigen retrieval in pH 6.0 citrate buffer. After incubation with the primary antibody, slides were incubated with biotinylated secondary antibody, followed by alkaline phosphatase-streptavidin and chromogen. The stained slides were evaluated by a pathologist to confirm staining specificity. The optimal working concentration for LS-B2428 was determined to be 5 ug/ml. The applications listed have been tested for the unmodified form of this product. Other forms have not been tested.

Packaging

10 mM PBS, pH 7.4.
Long term: Add glycerol (40-50%) -20°C; Short term: +4°C

About MAP1B

P46821 NM_005909 NP_005900.2

MAP1B Antibody, FUTSCH Antibody, MAP-1B Antibody, MAP5 Antibody

Facilitates tyrosination of alpha-tubulin in neuronal microtubules (By similarity). Phosphorylated MAP1B may play a role in the cytoskeletal changes that accompany neurite extension. Possibly MAP1B binds to at least two tubulin subunits in the polymer, and this bridging of subunits might be involved in nucleating microtubule polymerization and in stabilizing microtubules. Acts as a positive cofactor in DAPK1-mediated autophagic vesicle formation and membrane blebbing.
