Specificity and Use
Leukotriene B4 Receptor / BLT1 antibody was raised against heLa cell transfectants expressing human BLTR.
Recognizes the human BLTR molecule, the leukotriene B4 receptor. BLTR is expressed by peripheral blood granulocytes and is important in the pro-inflammatory response.
The applications listed have been tested for the unmodified form of this product. Other forms have not been tested. Flow Cytometry: Use 10 ul of the suggested working dilution to label 10^6 cells or 100 ul whole blood. Method sheets are available on request.
BLT1 is a Chemoattractant Receptor that binds the potent chemoattractant leukotriene B4 (LTB4) which is involved in defense against infection. Leukotriene B4 also activates the transcription factor PPAR alpha, resulting in the activation of genes that terminate inflammatory processes (Yokomizo et al., 1997). Although BLT1 shows homology to other P2Y receptors, it does not function as a purinoreceptor ( Yokomizo et al., 1997).
