c-Jun is a component of the transcription factor activator protein 1 (AP-1) that binds to and activates transcription at TRE/AP-1 elements. Phosphorylation of c-Jun at Ser 63/73, resulting in activation and c-Jun dependent transcription, occurs in response to extra or intracellular signals, including UV irradiation, growth factors and transforming oncoproteins.
Anti-JUN mouse monoclonal antibody immunofluorescent staining of COS7 cells transiently transfected by pCMV6-ENTRY JUN.
HEK293T cells were transfected with the pCMV6-ENTRY control (Left lane) or pCMV6-ENTRY JUN (Right lane) cDNA for 48 hrs and lysed. Equivalent amounts of cell lysates (5 ug per lane) were separated by SDS-PAGE and immunoblotted with anti-JUN.
