Specificity
Specific to the integrin alpha-6 chain which is expressed on epithelial and endothelial basement membrane. The VLA alpha-6 chain, which consists of a single disulphide linked 120kD subunit and a small doublet subunit of 25/30kD, is non covalently associated with the VLA beta-chain (CD29) in VLA-6 or alpha 6/beta 1 complex or with integrin beta 4 chain (alpha 6/beta 4). The antigen is also expressed on platelets, monocytes, thymocytes and T lymphocytes.

Usage
Immunohistological studies on frozen sections. Immunoprecipitation of the laminin receptor. Flow Cytometry. For flow cytometry we recommend using 10 ul of conjugate per test. The applications listed have been tested for the unconjugated form of this product. Other forms have not been tested.
