Human ITGA4 / VLA-4 / CD49d
Human (tested or 100% immunogen sequence identity)
Human integrin alpha 4. The alpha 4 beta 1 integrin receptor recognizes an RGD-independent alternative adhesion site in the CS-1 region of fibronectin.
Immunocytochemistry on Jurkat cells at 1:1600. Inhibits attachment of hematopoietic cells and fibroblasts to fibronectin (note: sodium azide should be removed prior to attachment assay). Storage and Handling: Store at - 20 ?C in undiluted aliquots for up to 12 months. Avoid repeated freeze/thaw cycles.

Integrins are heterodimeric integral membrane proteins composed of an alpha chain and a beta chain. Unlike other integrin alpha chains, alpha 4 neither contains an I-domain, nor undergoes disulfide-linked cleavage. Although alpha 4 is variably cleaved to yield two unlinked chains, this cleavage is unnecessary for integrin assembly and function.
