Specificity and Use
IL4 antibody was raised against recombinant mouse IL-4.
Recognizes mouse Interleukin-4 (IL-4). Does not cross-react with rat.
Suitable for use in Flow Cytometry, ELISA, Western Blot and Immunohistochemistry. Flow Cytometry: 1:10-1:50, Use 10 ul to label 1E6 cells in 100ul. Membrane permeabilization is required for this application. ELISA: 1-5 ug/ml. Western Blot: 1-5 ug/ml. Immunohistochemistry: Frozen sections.

IL4 is a pleiotropic cytokine produced by activated T cells. This cytokine is a ligand for interleukin 4 receptor. The interleukin 4 receptor also binds to IL13, which may contribute to many overlapping functions of this cytokine and IL13. STAT6, a signal transducer and activator of transcription, has been shown to play a central role in mediating the immune regulatory signal of this cytokine.
