  • Work with LifeSpan to design a custom immunohistochemistry to address your specific biological question. Outsource the entire localization process without having to worry about finding and characterizing target specific antibodies, sourcing and validating difficult-to-find tissues, and having the ability to interpret the resulting immunostaining in relation to complex human pathologies.

  • TCR Screening Services

  • Test your therapeutic antibodies in immunohistochemistry against a broad panel of normal frozen human tissue types in order to determine potential unintended binding. Our non-GLP TCR services are designed on the FDA recommendation outlined in their "Points to Consider in the Manufacture and Testing of Monoclonal Antibody Products for Human Use".

Specificity and Use

HTR5A / 5-HT5A Receptor antibody was raised against synthetic peptide sequence corresponding to aa17-34 of the rat 5-HT5A receptor.
Recognizes Serotonin Receptor 5A. Species cross-reactivity: Mouse and rat.
Suitable for use in Western Blot and Immunohistochemistry. Western Blot: 1:100-1:250. Immunohistochemistry: 1:100-1:300 in PBS/0.03% Triton X-100 - Bn/Av-HRP Technique. Control Tissue: The antiserum demonstrates positive labeling of rat cortex and hippocampus. Perfusion Fixation: Fixative-4% paraformaldehyde in 0.1 M Phosphate buffer, pH 7.4; 500 ml over approximately 20 minutes. Post Fixation: 4% paraformaldehyde in 0.1 M Phosphate buffer, pH 7.4; 500 ml over approximately 20 minutes. Post Fixation -1.5 hour at 4? C. in 4% paraformaldehyde in 0.1 M phosphate buffer, pH 7.4. Note: Paraformaldehyde is a necessary component in fixation of serotonin. If needed, low levels of glutaraldehyde (0.10.3%) may be used in conjunction with paraformaldehyde. Sections: 50um vibratome. Absorption control: Synthetic rat 5HT 5A receptor. Incubation on Tissue: 16-24 hours at 4?C.

Supplied as a liquid.
Long term: -20°C; Short term: +4°C; Avoid freeze-thaw cycles.

The neurotransmitter serotonin (5-hydroxytryptamine, 5-HT) has been implicated in a wide range of psychiatric conditions and also has vasoconstrictive and vasodilatory effects. The gene described in this record is a member of 5-hydroxytryptamine (serotonin) receptor family and encodes a multi-pass membrane protein that functions as a receptor for 5-hydroxytryptamine and couples to G-proteins.
