In vertebrates, the genes encoding the class of transcription factors called homeobox genes are found in clusters named A, B, C, and D on four separate chromosomes. Expression of these proteins is spatially and temporally regulated during embryonic development. This gene is part of the A cluster on chromosome 7 and encodes a DNA-binding transcription factor which may regulate gene expression, morphogenesis, and differentiation.
HOXA1 in NTera-2 Human Cell Line. HOXA1 was detected in immersion fixed retinoic acid-treated NTera-2 human testicular embryonic carcinoma cell line using 10 ug/ml Goat Anti-Human HOXA1 Antigen Affinity-purified Polyclonal Antibody for 3 hours at room temperature. Cells were stained with the NorthernLights 557-conjugated Anti-Goat IgG Secondary Antibody (red) and counterstained with DAPI (blue).
Detection of Human HOXA1 by Western Blot. Western blot shows lysates of A431 human epithelial carcinoma cell line and A549 human lung carcinoma cell line. PVDF membrane was probed with 1 ug/ml of Goat Anti-Human HOXA1 Antigen Affinity-purified Polyclonal Antibody followed by HRP-conjugated Anti-Goat IgG Secondary Antibody. A specific band was detected for HOXA1 at approximately 35 kD (as indicated). This experiment was conducted under reducing conditions.
