Histone H3 antibody was raised against a synthetic peptide containing phospho serine at position 28 CARKS*APATGGVKK, of human Histone H3. The immunogen sequence (CARKS*APATGGVKK) is conserved across mammalian and invertebrates, as well as plants. Percent identity by BLAST analysis: Human, Mouse, Chicken, Xenopus, Zebrafish, Drosophila, Rice, Arabidopsis (100%).
In anti-Fas mAb treated Jurkat, an 18 kD band is observed.

About Histone H3
Histone H3 is one of the five main histone proteins involved in the structure of chromatin in eukaryotic cells. Featuring a main globular domain and a long N-terminal tail, H3 is involved with the structure of the nucleosomes of the 'beads on a string' structure. Histone proteins are highly post-translationally modified however Histone H3 is the most extensively modified of the five histones.
