Specificity and Use
HDAC3 antibody was raised against synthetic peptide corresponding to the C-terminus of human HDAC-3.
The antibody detects the 49 kD HDAC3. It does not cross-react with other HDAC proteins including HDAC1, 2, 4, 5, 6, 7, and 8. Jurkat cell lysate can be used as a positive control. Blocking peptide is also available.
Responsible for the deacetylation of lysine residues on the N-terminal part of the core histones (H2A, H2B, H3 and H4), and some other non-histone substrates. Histone deacetylation gives a tag for epigenetic repression and plays an important role in transcriptional regulation, cell cycle progression and developmental events.
