A 19 residue synthetic peptide RNFQHRRQAKEQQERQRDE based on the rat membrin (aa 85-103) was synthesized and the peptide coupled to KLH. Percent identity by BLAST analysis: Rat (100%); Mouse (89%); Human, Gorilla, Gibbon, Monkey, Marmoset, Hamster, Panda, Bovine, Bat, Rabbit, Opossum (84%).

Specificity
Detects an ~27 kD protein, corresponding to the apparent molecular mass of Membrin on SDSPAGE immunoblots, in samples from human, mouse, rat, bovine, chicken, dog, Drosophila, hamster, monkey, pig, rabbit, and sheep origins. This band can be successfully competed in peptide inhibition studies on immunoblots.
