  • Work with LifeSpan to design a custom immunohistochemistry to address your specific biological question. Outsource the entire localization process without having to worry about finding and characterizing target specific antibodies, sourcing and validating difficult-to-find tissues, and having the ability to interpret the resulting immunostaining in relation to complex human pathologies.

  • TCR Screening Services

  • Test your therapeutic antibodies in immunohistochemistry against a broad panel of normal frozen human tissue types in order to determine potential unintended binding. Our non-GLP TCR services are designed on the FDA recommendation outlined in their "Points to Consider in the Manufacture and Testing of Monoclonal Antibody Products for Human Use".

Specificity and Use

GJB1 / CX32 / Connexin 32 antibody was raised against synthetic peptide corresponding to a portion of the cytoplasmic loop of rat connexin 32.
Cytoplasmic Domain
Reacts predominantly with rat Connexin 32. Cross-reactive bands may be detected in the 50-65kD range. These bands may represent Connexin 32 dimers, but this has not been confirmed. Species cross-reactivity: human, mouse.
Suitable for use in ELISA, Western Blot and Immunohistochemistry. ELISA: 0.1-1.0 ug/ml. Western Blot: 0.5 ug/ml. Detects a 32kD protein in rat liver preparations enriched for integral membrane proteins. Note: samples were not boiled prior to running SDS-PAGE. Immunohistochemistry (Frozen sections: 8,11): 1-2 ug/ml.

PBS, pH 7.4, 0.1% sodium azide, 40% glycerol.
Long term: Add glycerol (40-50%) -20°C; Short term: +4°C

GJB1 / CX32 / Connexin 32 is a member of the gap junction protein family. The gap junction proteins are membrane-spanning proteins that assemble to form gap junction channels that facilitate the transfer of ions and small molecules between cells. According to sequence similarities at the nucleotide and amino acid levels, the gap junction proteins are divided into two categories, alpha and beta. Mutations in this gene cause X-linked Charcot-Marie-Tooth disease, an inherited peripheral neuropathy.
