  • Work with LifeSpan to design a custom immunohistochemistry to address your specific biological question. Outsource the entire localization process without having to worry about finding and characterizing target specific antibodies, sourcing and validating difficult-to-find tissues, and having the ability to interpret the resulting immunostaining in relation to complex human pathologies.

  • TCR Screening Services

  • Test your therapeutic antibodies in immunohistochemistry against a broad panel of normal frozen human tissue types in order to determine potential unintended binding. Our non-GLP TCR services are designed on the FDA recommendation outlined in their "Points to Consider in the Manufacture and Testing of Monoclonal Antibody Products for Human Use".

Anti-GFP Chemiluminescent Kit for Western blot. Known amounts of recombinant GFP protein ( were spiked into a HeLa cell-derived lysates (p/n W09-000-364) and separated by SDS-PAGE using a 4-20% gradient gel. Proteins were transferred onto a nitrocellulose membrane for 1 h at 100 mV. The membrane was blocked with TTBS (p/n MB-013) supplemented with 1% BSA (p/n BSA-50) for 1 h at 4°C prior to probing the blot with the anti-GFP monoclonal antibody LS-C154208 diluted 1:1000 for 40 min. Detection of the primary antibody by the HRP-conjugated anti-Mouse IgG (p/n LS-C60772) was performed at a dilution of 1:20000 for 1h at 4°C. FemtoMax Super Sensitive Chemiluminescent Luminol Substrate was used for signal detection (see below).

Specificity and Use

GFP antibody was raised against highly purified recombinant GFP made in E. coli.
Recognizes Green Fluorescent Protein (GFP). Species cross-reactivity: all variants of Aequorea victoria GFP; S65T-GFP, RS-GFP, YFP and EGFP. Detects 5 ng of recombinant GFP (ECL) with 1 minute exposure or less.
Suitable for use in Western Blot, Immunoprecipitation and Immunocytochemistry, Immunohistochemistry, Immunofluorescence and Immunogold Electron Microscopy. Western Blot: 1:2500-1:10000 in 1X BLOTTO or 3% BSA in PBS. Detects the GFP fraction from cell extracts expressing recombinant GFP fusion proteins. Immunocytochemistry: 1:200-1:1000 in 4% normal serum. Very good signal on recombinant YES-GFP chimeras expressed in COS cells. Immunohistochemistry: 1:200 with HRP detection systems. Has been shown to be useful on mouse sections fixed with formalin. Immunohistochemistry: 1:200 for paraffin sections. Requires heat mediated antigen retrieval via the microwave method before IHC staining (13min in 10 mM citrate buffer pH6 followed by rapid cooling on ice). Immunoprecipitation: 1 ul per 10cm tissue culture dish of transfected cells. Use 10 ul protein A agarose CL4B to precipitate immune complex. Immunogold Electron Microscopy: 1:100.

PBS, pH 7.2, 0.01% sodium azide.
Short term: 4°C. Long term: Store at -20°C. Avoid freeze-thaw cycles.

About GFP

GFP Antibody

Green Fluorescent Protein (GFP) exhibits bright green fluorescence when exposed to blue light. Although many other marine organisms have similar green fluorescent proteins, GFP traditionally refers to the protein first isolated from the jellyfish Aequorea victoria. GFP from A. victoria has a major excitation peak at a wavelength of 395 nm and a minor one at 475 nm. Its emission peak is at 509 nm, which is in the lower green portion of the visible spectrum.
