  • Immunohistochemistry Services

  • Work with LifeSpan to design a custom immunohistochemistry to address your specific biological question. Outsource the entire localization process without having to worry about finding and characterizing target specific antibodies, sourcing and validating difficult-to-find tissues, and having the ability to interpret the resulting immunostaining in relation to complex human pathologies.

  • TCR Screening Services

  • Test your therapeutic antibodies in immunohistochemistry against a broad panel of normal frozen human tissue types in order to determine potential unintended binding. Our non-GLP TCR services are designed on the FDA recommendation outlined in their "Points to Consider in the Manufacture and Testing of Monoclonal Antibody Products for Human Use".

Specificity and Use

Synaptic plasma membranes from bovine hippocampus.
Recognizes bovine galactocerebroside (GalC), sulfatide, psychosine and other galactolipids. Binds specifically with oligodendrocytes and Schwann cells. Cross-reacts with the sulfatide ester of GalC, but to a 16-fold lesser extent. No cross-reactivity with sphingosine, ceramide, mixed ganglioside or glucocerebroside. Species cross-reactivity: human, rat, rabbit, and mouse.
Suitable for use in Western Blot, ELISA, Immunohistochemistry and Immunocytochemistry. ELISA: With purified galactocerebrosides. Western Blot: 1:500 on 10 ug PC lysates. Immunohistochemistry: 0.5-10 ug/ml on formalin-fixed frozen sections. Cannot be used on paraffin-embedded tissue sections since the antigen is denatured during embedding and paraffin removal. Immunocytochemistry: 0.5-10 ug/ml on 4% paraformaldehyde, acetic acid or ethanol-fixed cultured cells. Positive control: Neonatal cortex.

Supplied as a liquid in 0.02M PBS, pH 7.4, 0.25M sodium chloride, 0.1% sodium azide
May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months
