  • Work with LifeSpan to design a custom immunohistochemistry to address your specific biological question. Outsource the entire localization process without having to worry about finding and characterizing target specific antibodies, sourcing and validating difficult-to-find tissues, and having the ability to interpret the resulting immunostaining in relation to complex human pathologies.

  • TCR Screening Services

  • Test your therapeutic antibodies in immunohistochemistry against a broad panel of normal frozen human tissue types in order to determine potential unintended binding. Our non-GLP TCR services are designed on the FDA recommendation outlined in their "Points to Consider in the Manufacture and Testing of Monoclonal Antibody Products for Human Use".

Specificity and Use

GABRA1 antibody was raised against peptide from the N-terminal region of the alpha 1-subunit of rat GABAA receptor, conjugated to keyhole limpet hemocyanin (KLH).
Specific for the ~51 k alpha 1-subunit of the GABAA receptor in Western blots of rat brain. Labeling is absent in ^1-subunit knockout animals

50 uL of 10 mM HEPES, pH 7.5, 150 mM sodium chloride, 0.1 mg/mL BSA, 50% glycerol.
Long term: -20°C; Short term: -20°C
For research use only.

GABRA1 Antibody, GABA A receptor alpha 1 Antibody, GABA(A) receptor, alpha 1 Antibody, ECA4 Antibody, EJM Antibody, EJM5 Antibody

Gamma-aminobutyric acid (GABA) is the primary inhibitory neurotransmitter in the central nervous system, causing a hyperpolarization of the membrane through the opening of a Cl- channel associated with the GABA-A receptor subtype. GABA-A receptors are important therapeutic targets for a range of sedative, anxiolytic, and hypnotic agents and are implicated in several diseases including epilepsy, anxiety, depression, and substance abuse. The GABA-A receptor is a multimeric subunit complex.

Western blot

Western blot
Western blot of rat forebrain lysates from Wild Type (Control) and a1-knockout (a1-K/O) animals showing specific immunolabeling of the ~51 k a1-subunit of the GABAA-R. The labeling was absent from a lysate prepared from a1-knockout animals.
