Services
  • Immunohistochemistry Services

  • Work with LifeSpan to design a custom immunohistochemistry to address your specific biological question. Outsource the entire localization process without having to worry about finding and characterizing target specific antibodies, sourcing and validating difficult-to-find tissues, and having the ability to interpret the resulting immunostaining in relation to complex human pathologies.

  • TCR Screening Services

  • Test your therapeutic antibodies in immunohistochemistry against a broad panel of normal frozen human tissue types in order to determine potential unintended binding. Our non-GLP TCR services are designed on the FDA recommendation outlined in their "Points to Consider in the Manufacture and Testing of Monoclonal Antibody Products for Human Use".

Specificity and Use

The antibody reacts specifically with fibrin of human and canine origin. It binds with moderate affinity to human fibrinogen, but does not react with other human plasma proteins.
The antibody is useful for staining sections by immunohistochemistry or immunofluorescence. It reveals early and aged fibrinous depositions. The antibody can be used for ELISA determination of fibrin related products in biological fluids. It can easily be conjugated to peroxidase, FITC and TRITC. The antibody can be used for immunohistology on acetone or ethanol fixed cryostat sections. It has to be diluted 1:30 - 1:50, preferably in phosphate buffered saline. Start diluting for ELISA at 1:1000.

About Fibrinogen

Fibrinogen (factor I) is a glycoprotein in vertebrates that helps in the formation of blood clots. It consists of a linear array of three nodules held together by a very thin thread which is estimated to have a diameter between 8 and 15 Angstrom (Å). The two end nodules are alike but the center one is slightly smaller. Measurements of shadow lengths indicate that nodule diameters are in the range 50 to 70 Angstrom. The length of the dried molecule is 475 ± 25 Angstrom.
