Specificity and Use
Microfibrils from zonular apparatus of bovine eye.
Recognizes bovine fibrillin (Mr 350kD). Species cross-reactivity: Human.
Immunohistochemistry. Immunofluorescence. Western Blot. Electron microscopic immunolocalization. Immunohistochemistry: 1:50-1:100 (30-60 min at RT). Western Blot: 1 ug/ml. The applications listed have been tested for the unconjugated form of this product. Other forms have not been tested.

Fibrillins are structural components of 10-12 nm extracellular calcium-binding microfibrils, which occur either in association with elastin or in elastin-free bundles. Fibrillin-1-containing microfibrils provide long-term force bearing structural support. Regulates osteoblast maturation by controlling TGF-beta bioavailability and calibrating TGF-beta and BMP levels, respectively.
