Specificity and Use
ELP2 / STATIP1 antibody was raised against synthetic peptide aa 679-693 (CSPDSKYFFTGSRDKK) corresponding to murine StIP-1. Percent identity by BLAST analysis: Human, Gorilla, Gibbon, Monkey, Marmoset, Rat, Panda, Dog, Rabbit (100%); Mouse, Bat, Horse, Opossum (93%); Elephant, Bovine, Chicken, Xenopus, Stickleback, Pufferfish (87%); Blood fluke (80%).
Recognizes StIP-1 at 92kD, which may appear as a doublet. Also recognizes a second band at ~70kD. Species cross-reactivity: Mouse. Species sequence homology: human- highly conserved.
Suitable for use in Western Blot and Immunoprecipitation. Proteins were visualized using IgG (HRP) goat anti-rabbit and a chemiluminescence detection system. Immunoprecipitation: 1-4 ug immunoprecipitated StIP-1 from 500 ug of BAF-3 RIPA cell lysate. Reported to immunoprecipitate human StIP-1.
