Specificity and Use

Epstein-Barr Virus VCA.
Recognizes the viral capsid antigen of Epstein-Barr Virus (EBV), also known as Human Herpes Virus 4 (HHV-4), one of the most common human viruses.
Suitable for use in Immunofluorescence.


PBS, 0.09% sodium azide
May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. For long-term storage and to avoid repeated freezing and thawing, add sterile 40-50% glycerol, aliquot and store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months at -20°C.

About EBV Capsid Antigen p120

Epstein–Barr virus (EBV), also called human herpesvirus 4 (HHV-4), is one of eight viruses in the herpes family, and is one of the most common viruses in humans. It is best known as the cause of infectious mononucleosis (glandular fever). It is also associated with particular forms of cancer, such as Hodgkin's lymphoma, Burkitt's lymphoma, nasopharyngeal carcinoma, and conditions associated with human immunodeficiency virus (HIV), such as hairy leukoplakia and central nervous system lymphomas.
