A 17 residue synthetic peptide (C)TQLTADSHPSYHTDGFN based on the rat cysteine string protein (aa 182-198) with the cysteine (C) residue added and the peptide coupled to KLH. Percent identity by BLAST analysis: Human, Gorilla, Gibbon, Monkey, Marmoset, Mouse, Rat, Panda, Dog, Bovine, Horse, Rabbit, Turkey, Chicken, Platypus, Lizard (100%); Elephant, Opossum (94%); Bat, Xenopus (88%).

Specificity
This immunoaffinity purified antibody detects a 34kD protein, corresponding to the apparent molecular mass of CSP on SDS-PAGE immunoblots, in samples from mouse, rat, bovine and Xenopus. A 70kD band is also observed, which may represent a CSP dimer. No reactivity was seen with mouse liver extracts. The antibody specificity is confirmed by specific peptide inhibition in immunoblotting studies.
