  • Work with LifeSpan to design a custom immunohistochemistry to address your specific biological question. Outsource the entire localization process without having to worry about finding and characterizing target specific antibodies, sourcing and validating difficult-to-find tissues, and having the ability to interpret the resulting immunostaining in relation to complex human pathologies.

  • TCR Screening Services

  • Test your therapeutic antibodies in immunohistochemistry against a broad panel of normal frozen human tissue types in order to determine potential unintended binding. Our non-GLP TCR services are designed on the FDA recommendation outlined in their "Points to Consider in the Manufacture and Testing of Monoclonal Antibody Products for Human Use".

Specificity and Use

COMT antibody was raised against human recombinant COMT
COMT (Catechol o-methyltransferase). By Western blot the antibody recognizes the 25 kD soluble COMT and the 30 kD membrane bound COMT. SPECIES REACTIVITIES: Human. It is expected that the antibody will also react with rodent COMT but reactivity has not been confirmed. Other species have not yet been tested
Western blot: 1:5000-1:10000 using ECL. Suggested antibody dilution buffer is 25 mM Tris HCl. Suggested blocking buffer is 25 mM Tris HCl with 150 mM NaCl and 5% milk. Optimal working dilutions must be determined by end user.

Store at -20°C. Aliquot to avoid freeze/thaw cycles. Store undiluted.

About COMT

P21964 NM_007310 NP_009294.1

COMT Antibody, Catechol O-methyltransferase Antibody, Catechol-O-methyltransferase Antibody

Catechol-O-methyltransferase catalyzes the transfer of a methyl group from S-adenosylmethionine to catecholamines, including the neurotransmitters dopamine, epinephrine, and norepinephrine. This O-methylation results in one of the major degradative pathways of the catecholamine transmitters. In addition to its role in the metabolism of endogenous substances, COMT is important in the metabolism of catechol drugs used in the treatment of hypertension, asthma, and Parkinson disease.
