  • Work with LifeSpan to design a custom immunohistochemistry to address your specific biological question. Outsource the entire localization process without having to worry about finding and characterizing target specific antibodies, sourcing and validating difficult-to-find tissues, and having the ability to interpret the resulting immunostaining in relation to complex human pathologies.

  • TCR Screening Services

  • Test your therapeutic antibodies in immunohistochemistry against a broad panel of normal frozen human tissue types in order to determine potential unintended binding. Our non-GLP TCR services are designed on the FDA recommendation outlined in their "Points to Consider in the Manufacture and Testing of Monoclonal Antibody Products for Human Use".

Specificity and Use

CNTN4 antibody was raised against synthetic peptide C-RRADGKPIARK from an internal region of mouse CNTN4 (NP_001103219.1; NP_766592.2). Percent identity by BLAST analysis: Hamster, Panda, Horse, Guinea pig (100%); Galago, Bovine, Elephant, Rabbit, Opossum, Platypus, Xenopus (91%); Chicken (82%).
LS-E27987 - Lyophilized - 100 µg - $145.00
Immunizing peptide used to generate LS-C186467. Useful for pre-absorption and neutralization of the antibody's antigen binding site.
Mouse CNTN4. This antibody is expected to recognize both reported isoforms (NP_001103219.1; NP_766592.2). Reported variants represent identical protein: NP_766592.2, NP_001103221.1
Peptide ELISA: antibody detection limit dilution 1:128000. Western blot: Approx 150kD band observed in Mouse Brain lysates and not in the same lysates from the KO mice (calculated MW of 113kD according to NP_001103219.1). Recommended concentration: 0.5-1.5 ug/ml.

Tris-buffered saline, pH 7.3, 0.5% BSA, 0.02% sodium azide
Store at -20°C. Minimize freezing and thawing.

About CNTN4

Q8IWV2 NP_783200.1

CNTN4 Antibody, AXCAM Antibody, Contactin 4 Antibody, Contactin-4 Antibody, BIG-2 Antibody

CNTN4 is a member of the contactin family of immunoglobulins. Contactins are axon-associated cell adhesion molecules that function in neuronal network formation and plasticity. The encoded protein is a glycosylphosphatidylinositol-anchored neuronal membrane protein that may play a role in the formation of axon connections in the developing nervous system. Deletion or mutation of this gene may play a role in 3p deletion syndrome and autism spectrum disorders.

Western blot

Western blot
CNTN4 antibody (0.5 ug/ml) staining of Mouse Olfactory bulb (lanes1 and 3) and Cerebral cortex (lanes 2 and 4), comparing wild type (lanes 3 and 4) with KO mice (lanes 1 and 2). The last lane contains a lysate of HEK293 overexpressing Mouse Cntn4 (lysate (35 ug protein in RIPA buffer). Primary incubation was 1 hour. Detected by chemiluminescence. Data obtained from Gerrald Lodewijk and Peter Burbach, Rudolf Magnus Institute, Utrecht, Netherlands.
