An 18 amino acid synthetic peptide ([C]GSVEQTPKKPGLRRRQT) linked to KLH was used to immunize rabbits. The human Kip1 sequence used (amino acids 182–198) shares 13/17 amino acids with murine Kip1. No other known proteins share more than 8 amino acids with the sequence.
