Specificity and Use
CDK11A / CDC2L2 antibody was raised against a synthetic peptide mapping to a region between residues 50 and 100 of human Cell Division Cycle 2-like 2 using the numbering given in Swiss-Prot entry Q9UQ88 (GeneID 985).
Recognizes human CDC2CL2. Reactivity with mouse and Xenopus CDC2L1 is likely owing to identity similarity between this ortholog at the site to which the epitope maps. The epitope that is recognized is also found in CDC1L1 (GeneID 984).
Suitable for use in Western Blot. Not suitable for Immunoprecipitation. Western Blot: 1:1000-1:10000.
CDK11A / CDC2L2 is a member of the p34Cdc2 protein kinase family. p34Cdc2 kinase family members are known to be essential for eukaryotic cell cycle control. This gene is in close proximity to CDC2L1, a nearly identical gene in the same chromosomal region. The gene loci including this gene, CDC2L1, as well as metalloprotease MMP21/22, consist of two identical, tandemly linked genomic regions, which are thought to be a part of the larger region that has been duplicated.
